As the rain and the snow come down from Heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills will burst in to song before you,
and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn bush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord's renown,
for and everlasting sign that will endure forever.
Isaiah 55:10-13

For some reason this verse kept coming back to me this week. I was sitting in church looking for another verse that the pastor told us to look for and ended up on this one. And then I couldn't get it out of my mind. It was really great to hear God's promise for me.
Sometimes it feels like I am not really making any difference with the little children I minister to every day. The kids that i spend most of my time with are too little to understand what I am saying, and most of them leave before i have a chance to have a lesson during class time. I was feeling really down about this when I found the verse. It's really great to know that God has sent me out bearing his word. I know I can put my faith in this promise whenever I am feeling a little useless. I know that God has called me and that he has a plan for me here. I have realized that maybe the best way to tell a little child about Christ's love, is by saying nothing. Just being there for a hug and a smile can be enough. And if that is what God has called me to, then he is going to bring fruit out of that. Thank you, Jesus.
Also, I am involved in the Deo Doxa youth group which meets on Friday nights. It is the church that I go to (mostly white, Afrikaans speaking people). I volunteer with my friend from my team, Raelynn. Last Friday, we did a drama talking about the prodigal son. After that we went into small groups and discussed it. Then, Hencor (the youth leader) talked about forgiveness and a relationship with Christ. After that he gave the invitation to receive Christ, and five of the youth accepted Christ!!!!! I was so excited to see how victorious our God is!!! I was so excited to see two of the girls accept Christ. I just love them so much.
All in all, this week was full of victories. Thank you, Jesus!!!
